			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.austinsurfboards.com/blog/our-buddy-jett/" title="Our Buddy Jett"><img src="http://www.austinsurfboards.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/yet-another-photoblog/YapbThumbnailer.php?post_id=168&amp;w=180" width="180" height="135" alt="Our Buddy Jett" ></a><p>A bunch of the gang were going out surfing and I was giving every excuse possible not to go.   I said it was too cold.  I was too busy.  The waves weren&#8217;t good enough.  The truth was that there was no real reason not to go.  I just didn&#8217;t feel like going but as I sat around I starting thinking about this summer when we went on vacation to the Outer Banks.  Our friend Jett Colonna came down and spent a few days with us.  If you have ever met Jett you would know the man is a machine.  He would always come by first thing in the morning and see if we were going out.  Even though the break was only a few blocks away we would always pack the car with all the boards so we wouldn&#8217;t have to carry them.  We would ask Jett if he wanted a ride and he would politely decline.  He would proceed to carry his 10&#8242;6 Austin, that he named &#8220;Big Girl&#8221;, the 2 or 3 blocks to the beach, surf all day, and carry Big Girl back to his cottage.  We on the other hand would drive to the beach, take a break during the mid day heat, and drive back home when we were finished surfing.  This was everyday.  Jett would never come out of the water until the sun was setting.  Did I also say that Jett turned 66 this year?  What can I say the man is a machine and I have no excuse.</p>
