First step was to sand her down to weave. This is where you really see what you have to work with. Actually it wasn’t too bad. She had a TON of resin built up on her. It almost had a 1/4 inch of pure resin on the top to make her smooth. It looked like in a previous restoration it must have had a delamination because the center strip of glass had been taken up and then placed back down. They did a pretty good job except for sealing the cuts. When we sanded into her little holes all along the cut popped up and had to be fixed. Also the original Noll laminate wasn’t put back in the correct location so that had to be fixed. As with any surgery you have to cut out all the cancer before the healing can begin. She was now cancer free.
