Ride for a Cause Virginia Beach to Benefit the March of Dimes

Since September of 2002 a surfing event called Ride For a Cause has been held to raise money for the March of Dimes.  Surfers throughout Virginia Beach gather to raise money to help the fight against premature birth.  Our event, held annually, raises over $3,500 each year.    Much of our success is due to the generous donations of our sponsors.  Local restaurants, surf shops, clothing companies, and others that provide prizes and cash donations.

As a representative on the March of Dime’s local and state Advisory Boards, I ask you to consider being a sponsor for this year’s event that
will be held on October 6th, 2007 at the Sandbridge Little Island Pier.

As in years past, the 2007 Ride For a Cause will have a unique surfing format.  Events have been designed to give surfers a break from the usual  contest scene.  The event list includes: team surf, old school longboarding, Grom division, stand-up paddle, surf kayak, and the non-thruster shortboard division.

Every Ride For a Cause sponsor will have their name printed on event fliers that will be distributed throughout thecity and on banners at the event itself.  Items we are asking for include: food, gift certificates, shirts, and other prizes for those who participate in the event.  Cash/check donations are welcome as well (checks made payable to the March of Dimes).  Donations to the March of Dimes are tax deductible and a great way to show support for the cause.

Click here for a sponsorship form that includes different levels of sponsorship.  Generous gifts from companies like yours help to ensure that Ride For a Cause will again be a great success. Being a sponsor ensures that you will have your name associated with an organization dedicated to helping Hampton Roads' youngest generation.  Thank you for helping the March of Dimes reach their goal of discovering the still unknown causes of premature birth.

Sincerely,

Brett A. Carey
